On Guard ~
Isn’t he something? I was driving out to the Red Rock Lake Refuge to look for Trumpeter Swans when I passed by this hawk sitting on a fence. Put the Jeep into reverse, while fumbling to get my camera out of the bag. Fortunately, I was on a dirt road that is not frequented by too many people so I was able to snap, pull forward, snap again. Finally he tired of my attention and flew off.
Shhh…Nappin’ Moose
Hunkered Down ~
This is what a super telephoto lens is for! Wow!
Across the valley was a small dark dot embedded amongst the golden grasses, but something about it made one look again. And with binoculars. A grizzly, on the carcass of a partially covered bison. Look closer still at the image, the smaller darkness is another grizzly waiting it’s turn.
