The Grey Whale is still in the Klamath River, trying to corral her calf from moving upstream. This was taken looking upstream on the Klamath River from Highway 101, and the light just fell perfectly to capturing a rainbow from the whale’s spray.

This Grey Whale and her calf have been spending a little time in the Klamath River, between the estuary and the bridge. Quite astounding to see these two creatures as they move back and forth, sometimes providing a show. Beautiful.
