Living on the coast of Northern California generally is the perfect place to be, but this year it has been all grey, all the time. Floating on air we eventually descended upon Klamath, Oregon of what was projected to be a very dry year. Beautiful, cool and plentiful water flowing through the Wood River. Meadows of green and gold grasses, bucolic scenes of livestock with the air teeming with osprey, hawks, bald and golden eagles high in the sky, butterflies and dragonflies along the river edges and trout moving through the water.

First Day of Vacation ~
There is a pool with 200 steelhead on Steamboat Creek, tributary to the North Umpqua River, who have migrated from the ocean and will continue their upstream migration in late October when the rain returns. As I sat, watching these massive fish, one JUMPED from the water! A wonderful and joyous way to begin a vacation.
